Description
At 9 inches overall, this small Damascus Bowie knife keeps the classic Bowie profile in a size that's easy to wear on a belt. It has a 5-inch blade and a 4-inch wood handle, so it works as a compact fixed blade for everyday carry and lighter jobs around camp or the yard.
Damascus steel is made by forge-welding layers of different steels together. The blade is then etched to bring out its flowing pattern, which varies from one knife to the next. Many Damascus blades contain high-carbon steel, so wipe this one dry after use and give it a thin coat of oil before storing it.
The wood handle gives the knife a warm, traditional look. Keep it out of standing water, and rub in a little oil or wax now and then so the wood doesn't dry out.
