Description
A 12-inch Damascus steel blade and a natural stag horn handle set this handmade Damascus Bowie knife apart from plainer fixed blades. At 18 inches overall with a 6-inch handle, it is a full-size Bowie built full tang, with the blade steel running through the grip.
Damascus steel is made by layering and forge-welding steel, then etching the blade to bring out its flowing pattern. Because that pattern comes from the forging itself, no two blades show exactly the same lines.
Stag horn is a natural material, so the color, texture and ridges of each handle vary from piece to piece. To keep both in good shape, wipe the blade clean and dry after use, add a light coat of oil now and then, and avoid soaking the handle.
