Description
A 10-inch 1095 high carbon steel blade set into a natural stag horn handle makes this handmade hunting knife a large fixed blade with a traditional outdoor look. It measures 16 inches overall, and the 6-inch handle leaves plenty of room for a full grip during bigger camp and field chores.
1095 is a simple high carbon steel with a long history in hunting and outdoor knives. Because it is not stainless, the blade will darken over time and can rust if it is put away wet. Dry it after each use, keep a thin film of oil on the steel, and don't leave it in the sheath for long periods, since leather can hold moisture.
Stag horn is a natural material, so every handle has its own color, texture and shape. That variation is part of what gives a stag-handled large hunting knife its character.
