Natural stag antler and 1095 high carbon steel come together on this handmade carbon steel hunting knife. An 8-inch blade sits ahead of a 5-inch deer antler handle, bringing it to 13 inches overall, a good size for anyone who wants a larger fixed blade hunting knife for the field.
1095 is a plain high-carbon steel with about 0.95% carbon and no stainless content. Over time it darkens and builds a patina, and it needs a little care: dry the blade after each use, oil it lightly, and don't leave it in the leather sheath for long periods, because leather can hold moisture against the steel.
Stag is real antler, so the color, ridges and texture change from one handle to the next. No two of these knives look exactly alike, which is part of the appeal for hunters and collectors who prefer natural materials over synthetic ones.
