Layered steel and warm rosewood give this handcrafted Damascus Bowie knife its look. The 10-inch blade shows the flowing pattern that comes from folding and forge-welding different steels together, and because that pattern forms during forging, no two blades come out exactly alike.
At 15 inches overall, it sits in the middle of the Bowie range: long enough to carry the classic profile, yet easier to wear on a belt than the largest Bowies. The 5-inch rosewood handle is a dense hardwood with natural grain, so its color and figure vary slightly from one knife to the next.
Caring for Damascus and Rosewood
Damascus is usually built from carbon-bearing steels, so the blade does best when it's wiped dry after use and given a thin coat of oil before storage. Keep the wooden handle out of standing water, and avoid storing the knife long-term inside the leather, which can hold moisture against the steel.
