Description
Description
This hand forged kukri knife follows the traditional Nepalese pattern, with the edge curving inward and the blade widening toward the belly. A 10-inch blade of 1095 high carbon steel meets a 5-inch Micarta handle, giving a full-size kukri of 15 inches overall rather than a compact utility version.
1095 is a plain high carbon steel, made with roughly 0.95% carbon, and a long-standing choice for forged outdoor blades. As with any carbon steel, wipe it dry after use and keep a light coat of oil on it. It will darken to a gray patina over time, which many owners prefer to a bright finish.
The handle is Micarta, a composite of fabric layers bonded in resin, so it is less affected by damp conditions than natural wood. The kukri shape has long been used for chopping, and as a large camp knife it suits jobs like clearing brush, cutting branches and preparing firewood. You can find more outdoor blades in our camping knives collection.
Made by hand at Unique Blades Runner, it arrives new and sharp as a kukri knife with leather sheath, so the blade is covered for carry and storage from day one.
