Description
A 10-inch blade puts this custom hand forged Damascus steel hunting knife firmly in large hunting knife territory. At 15 inches overall, it gives you the reach of a big fixed blade for hunting trips and camp chores, and because the steel is forged by hand, the layered pattern on each blade comes out a little different.
The 5-inch handle is stacked leather: thin leather washers pressed together along the tang, then shaped and finished into a grip. It is a traditional handle style on hunting knives. Let it air dry if it gets wet, and an occasional coat of leather conditioner or wax helps it last.
Damascus is pattern-welded steel, so the visible layers run through the blade rather than sitting on the surface. Wipe the blade dry after use and give it a light film of oil before it goes into storage.
