This Angel Blade Supernatural replica is a handmade, full-metal version of the angel blade carried by Castiel and the other angels in Supernatural. It is a fan-made collectible, not an official Warner Bros. product. The blade is stainless steel, the handle is steel, and it comes new, sharp and supplied with a black leather sheath.
The Angel Blade in Supernatural
Angel blades enter the series in season 4, when Uriel uses one in "On the Head of a Pin." From then on they become the standard blade of heaven's ranks. The show's design falls somewhere between a long dagger and a short sword, with a distinctive three-sided blade instead of a flat edge.
The blade quickly moves beyond the angels themselves. Castiel hands his to the Winchesters, Dean takes others along the way, and demons such as Meg and Crowley end up with them too. After the angels fall from heaven, the blades become common among experienced hunters, which is why Sam, Dean, Mary Winchester and others are all seen carrying one in later seasons.
That history is a large part of its appeal. Few props in the series are so closely tied to both the angels and the hunters, so this one piece calls to mind Castiel, the Winchesters and the wider war between heaven and hell.
Full-Size Stainless Steel Build
At about 21 inches overall, this Supernatural angel blade prop has real presence. The 14-inch stainless steel blade is long enough to read clearly as the angel blade, and the 7-inch steel handle gives it solid metal weight.
