This handmade Melita-K knife Antiterror replica follows the outline of one of Russia's best-known fixed blades. The original Antiterror was designed by Melita-K for units of Russia's FSB. This version keeps its broad, leaf-shaped blade and its traditional leather grip. It is a replica, not a Melita-K product, and two things set it apart from the factory knife: a D2 tool steel blade and a stacked leather handle with brass spacers. It arrives sharp with an original leather sheath.
The Antiterror Pattern
Melita-K built the Antiterror around a wide, petal-shaped blade with a reinforced spine. A crescent-shaped hollow in the edge adds cutting length without making the blade any longer, and a pronounced guard keeps the hand from sliding forward. Together, these features give the knife its distinctive profile, which is quite different from Western Bowie and hunting patterns.
This replica is slightly larger than the factory knife. It measures 12 inches overall with a 7-inch blade, while the Melita-K original runs about 11 inches overall with a 6.3-inch blade. The original uses a Russian stainless steel; this version moves to D2.
D2 Blade and Stacked Leather Handle
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel with about 12% chromium, known for holding a keen edge through hard use. It is semi-stainless, so wipe it dry after use and apply a light coat of oil before storing it.
The 5-inch handle is built from leather washers stacked and pressed onto the tang, with brass spacers set between them. Stacked leather gives a warm, secure grip that feels good in cold weather, and the brass adds contrast against the brown leather. An occasional coat of leather wax keeps the handle from drying out. Avoid soaking it, since water can loosen the leather over time.
