Description
This 1095 steel camping knife pairs an 8 inch high carbon blade with a 5 inch Micarta handle, giving a 13 inch overall build that puts it firmly in large camp knife territory. It is handmade by Unique Blades Runner, arrives sharp and new, and comes with its original leather sheath.
1095 is a plain high carbon steel with a long history in outdoor blades. Because it carries very little chromium, it rewards simple care: wipe the blade dry after use and give it a light coat of oil before it goes back in the sheath, especially after damp nights outdoors.
The handle is Micarta, a composite made from layers of fabric bonded in resin. Unlike wood, it doesn't soak up water, which suits a knife that spends its time around rivers, rain and cooking fires.
